Thank you very much for your interest in the Practice Test. We are not able to accept those that will arrive after the deadline.
If the number of applications exceeds the capacity of the Practice Test, examinees will be randomly selected again. Those who can participate in the Practice Test will receive the Practice Test voucher around Ｗednesday, November 18.

[Important] Personal identification documents

The original of vaild residence card will be the only acceptable personal identification document.
* If you are in the process of renewing your residence card or do not have a residence card, please refer to “Items to Bring to the Test”.

(You will not be able to enter the test room before 11:45.)

■Test Sections and Test Times:

*The schedule shown above is subject to change. Please read your test voucher carefully.
*Test time of each section in the Practice Test is not same as that of JLPT in December. The test formats are similar.
*Examinees will not receive any cash rewards.
*Examinees will not be allowed to enter the test room once the test hours have begun for any test section.
*Whether or not you take the Practice Test has nothing to do with the result of the JLPT in December.
*Test questions and answers are not published. Do not take the question booklets and answer sheets with you after the test.

① Test voucher of the Practice Test
*Please make sure you do not confuse the Practice Test voucher with the voucher for the JLPT on December 6.
② Writing instruments (HB pencils/mechanical pencils and plastic erasers taken out of their cases) *Ballpoint pens are NOT available.
③ Wristwatch without a memory function (Time display of mobile phones/smart phones, smartwatches, alarm watches, pocket watches and table clocks are not allowed.)
④ The original of vaild residence card
*If you are in the process of renewing your residence card
Having verified that you are in the process of renewal with an “Application for Extension of Period of Stay Pending Approval” or “Application for Change of Status of Residence Pending Approval” stamp on the reverse side of your residence card, a receipt slip of your residence card, or a copy of your residence card, your personal identity will be verified with a personal identification document with a face photograph issued by your government office (e.g., passport, Individual Number Card [My Number Card], or driver’s license).

*Of those who do not have a residence card
If you are one of the following, your personal identity will be verified with
① those with Japanese nationality：Japanese passport or Individual Number Card (My Number Card) and document indicating your nationality such as Certificate of Residence (Juminhyo)
② those with “Diplomat” or “Official” visa status：Diplomat or Official passport
③ those with permission for provisional stay：“Provisional Stay Permit”
④ those who fall under the Japan-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement or the United Nations Forces Agreement：ID card issued by the relevant military
⑤ those with provisional release permission：“Provisional Release Permit”
⑥ those subject to a supervision measure decision：“Supervision Measure Decision Notice.”

Note that those whose personal identity cannot be verified with the above documents will not be allowed to take the test.

This test is a Practice Test, not the JLPT. Therefore, a ‘Certificate of Japanese-Language Proficiency’ and a ‘Certificate of Result and Scores’ will not be issued. Those who participate all the test sections will receive the test results, indicating the ‘Correct Answer Rate’ for each section, by mail around Wednesday, December 30.
*The ‘Correct Answer Rate’ is not a point score, but a percentage of the test questions answered correctly.
*The “Scaled Scores” and “Reference Information” that are notified for the JLPT will not be notified for the Practice Test.

■We protect personal information.

Personal information and test result data obtained from the Practice Test may be used by the sponsors (The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services) in a way that does not identify you personally.
The Japan Foundation will not intentionally reveal identifying information collected from applicants to a third party, except in the following three cases:
・If there is a legal obligation to supply such information and when it is recognized to be appropriate to disclose the information
・If the consent of the owner of the information is obtained
・If it must be revealed to an external service provider contracted by The Japan Foundation to provide information processing service. In such cases, information is revealed only within the scope necessary for the performance of the said work.
Requests for notifications concerning usage purposes of personal information obtained from the Practice Test, disclosure, correction of details, addition or deletion of information, stoppage of use, complete deletion, as well as stopping provision to third parties shall be handled in accordance with The Japan Foundation privacy policy.
Those who have taken the Practice Test are assumed to have agreed to all the conditions and contents of the invitation letter.

■When the test date approaches…

Should the test be cancelled due to a natural disasters or epidemic diseases, the information will be posted on this website (https://www.jlpt.jp/mogiinfo/). Visit our website before the test to confirm whether or not there has been a cancellation.
